Patna Waterfall is a popular waterfall in Rishikesh. It is located approximately 6.5 KM from the Laxman Jhula Bridge in Rishikesh in the neighboring village of Patna. It is named after the Patna village and is also famous for the limestone caves located next to the waterfall.

It is also located next to a popular Ashram that is called Phool Chatti Ashram. The waterfall trail can be found a few meters away from the Garuda Chatti waterfall. You will find the start of the climb in front of “Siddha Bali Temple”.

According to legends, there is a small temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu inside these limestone caves. The tributary of river Ganga can be seen on the way of the trek to the falls and the meeting point of the tributary of Ganga can also be seen.

Trekking Route for Waterfall

By cab or by foot from Laxman Jhula on Neelkanth Temple Road (6 km), there is a short but scenic 1.5 KM walking track through the Rajaji Forest to Patna Falls.. From the base to the waterfall trek is about one and a half hour trek to the falls.

This track is a little steep and not too difficult at all. There are no sign boards to the waterfall so visitors have to be careful and confirm the route with locals.

Myth 1 – This waterfall remains alive throughout the year.

        Correction – There is no water during summer. So it is absolutely false that it survives throughout the year.

Myth 2 – There are many shops around the waterfall.

        Correction – There is no shop around the waterfall. So this is also not true.

Myth 3 – You can visit this waterfall anytime before dark. 

        Correction – You can visit this waterfall anytime before dark because of wildlife present. So It is not advisable to visit this after dark.

By Road:- Rishikesh Bus Stand is the nearest bus stand. The city roads are well connected with rickshaws and autos, helping you navigate the city and its surroundings without any hassle.

By Train:- Nearest Railway station is Rishikesh Railway Station. You should find a train stopping at this junction. You can get down here to fetch a bus, a local ferry or hire a taxi to reach your destination.

By Air:- The nearest airport to the waterfalls is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. You can catch a bus or hire a taxi to reach the Patna Waterfall. It would take around an hour to cover this distance of 35 KM.

The Beatles Ashram

Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh Formerly known as Chaurasi Kutiya, Beatles Ashram is located east of the Ganges River in the foothills of the Himalayas, opposite the Muni ki Reti area of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. Ram Jhula

Ram Jhula is an iron suspension bridge located 3 km north of Rishikesh. It is built over the river Ganga to cross the river and is a landmark of this place. Ram Jhula has been recently built between Sivananda Ashram and Savargashram. The natural beauty of the area can be seen from the bridge, the sound of fresh air, and flowing water.
