Kamraj ki Kali Temple is a popular Hindu temple located on the Haridwar-Rishikesh highway, at a distance of 7 km from the railway station in the Uttarakhand region of India. History of Shri Dakshin Kali Temple
Dakshin Kali Temple was established by Siddha Purush Kamraj Maharaj. It is believed that Kali Maa had told Kamaraj Maharaj to establish this temple by giving him darshan. After which Kamraj Maharaj established this temple on 108 male heads.
Sudhir Pandey, the priest of the temple, says that the Dakshin Kali Peeth is a Tantra Peeth. This temple was established before 1753 AD. In 1753 AD, Kamaraj Maharaj left the responsibility of the temple to his disciple Kalikananda and went for Himalayan penance, but Kamaraj Maharaj still lives in the temple. How Kamaraj Guru Ji created this temple?
The supreme devotee of Maa Kali, Kamaraj Guru Ji started travelling all over India in search of Maa Bhagwati Kali when he reached the foothills of Neel Parvat located in Kajri forest, he saw a river on the south bank of Maa Ganga crying out every day.
Realizing that there is a divine and direct idol of Maa Kali established in a very ancient cave since time immemorial, respected Kamaraj Guru Ji comes here and gets overwhelmed by seeing the idol of Maa.
The idol of the mother is there for millions of years and is self-manifested. No one knows where did the idol of Maa Kali come from in this Kajrivan on the banks of the Ganges. After that Guru Ji does severe penance here for many years.
As a result of his intense meditation, Prasanna Murti Maa Kali was pleased, and after that, Maa Kali’s sonlike behaviour towards respected Guru Ji started. Dakshina Kali ordered Kamaraj Maharaj ji to build a grand temple of mine built from Vastu Kalan; On receiving the permission, respected Kamaraj Guru ji got this temple constructed on 108 Narmunds and established his adorable Goddess Maa Kali and Bhairav ji.

The story about Samudra Manthan –

Brahmkund
The temple is situated over a kund, which is said to have special powers. It is also known as ‘Mechla Kund’, named after Mechla, wife of Alha. When she was getting her education under the tutelage of Baba Kamaraj, she used to bathe in this pool every day.
Guru Kamaraj had given an omen that only yogis would be able to bathe in the famous kund. Apart from Yogis, those who bathe in this pool will never return. The temple is visited by hundreds of devotees daily.
There is never-ending water in this pool till date and when the British failed to measure its depth, they took out a canal from it and made a barrage on it, which is known as ‘Ganganahar’. The present Har ki Pauri is the water that was extracted from Ganga Nahar.

Coconut, rose flowers, blackberries, and sweet betel are also offered to Mai. Devotees secretly offer liquor to please Mai.
Special worship is offered to the mother during Navratras. A special Yagya is also conducted on the 8th Navratri night or ‘Ashtami’.

This temple is established on 33 acres of land of Chandi Ghat and at present its president is 71st Peethadhishwar Shrimahant Kailashanand Brahmachari.
